UK Data Centre Information
Three X Managed Services operates three private data centres located Just outside Leeds West Yorkshire. Our facility boasts true enterprise hosting specification with redundancy at every level of its architecture. This page highlights key features of our space.
Power
- Power is delivered at 11,000V directly from the National Grid.
- During utility power outages the data centre will run uninterrupted from UPS.
- Fully Redundant Backup diesel powered generator.
- For extended utility power outages, on-site diesel generator can run indefinitely.
- Power feeds are conditioned for surge suppression.
- Multiple utility power drops ensure no single point of failure.
Environmental Control
- Multiple air conditioning systems (full N+1 redundancy).
- Multiple 35KW Denco down flow units.
- Around the clock environmental monitoring ensures constant temperature of 20C.
- Raised flooring for under floor cooling and maintaining separate power and data cabling.
Fire Protection
- VESDA early warning fire detection.
- FM200 gas suppression (waterless fire protection).
Connectivity
- Cisco Powered Network at the core and at switching level.
- Multiple diverse fibre entry points to building ensuring redundancy in case of external cable cut.
- Additional network POPs maintained in 1 other data centre facility.
- Dual network cable drops to all racks ensuring no single point of failure.
- Undersold network at only 30% capacity.
- Triple Tier 1 carrier connectivity
Off-site backups
- We utilise the latest in Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology.
- Twice daily remote backups of all servers are maintained for 2 weeks.
- Backups stored off-site in a secure remote location in Yorkshire.
- Disaster recovery is possible in minutes not the traditional hours or days.
Security
- There is a 24/7 on-site security presence
- Proximity access card and biometric hand readers on all doors in the facility.
- Electronic log notation for every entrance and threshold.
- Each server cabinet has separate locked door.
- No customer identification on cabinets.
- All areas of the facility are monitored 24/7 via CCTV which is recorded onsite and offsite.
- Physical access is limited to data centre personal.
- All employees undergo strict background security checks before being employed.
24/7 on-site staffing
- Experienced technicians remain onsite 24/7 monitoring our network and servers.
- Main office is across the hall from data centre floor for fast access.
- No waiting for an engineer to be "called out" to a problem.
Additional facilities
Within the data centre you keep control of your server management and administration, we provide you with state-of-the art security and protection. The data centre proves to be an excellent base for your staff, and our secure access policy means they can work whenever you need them to. With on-site accommodation for your engineers, subject to availability, there is no need for expensive hotels or the dangers of having your technicians driving back to base after a long day.
The main data centre machine rooms are equipped with mobile crash trolleys with TFT screens, keyboard and mice for customer convenience.
Seperate unpacking and build areas are provided to promote clean room conditions.
